I grew up in northern Illinois and have lived in and seen many parts of the country in my life, but to me there is no better place to be than Tennessee in the Fall. The weather, the foliage, and the beautiful skies make it so incredible. It's a time for "punkin" patches (as my kids would say) hayrides, bonfires, hot apple cider and of course SEC football. It is also a great time to reflect on the previous year and how things have changed in your life. It's a great time to start thinking about your plans and goals for 2017 as well. I know it sounds a little early to start thinking about that, but when Thanksgiving hits - life gets crazy with school events, parties, and shopping. Before you know it, it's Christmas and New Year's and you haven't thought about your plans for 2017.
A few tips that I've learned over the years may be helpful to you when you begin planning. Hopefully you had goals or plans last year, so take time to look at what you have accomplished this past year. And ask yourself is it where I want to be, or am I on track? I've always been taught to have Personal, Professional, Spiritual, Health, and Financial goals. I have also been taught to seek advice in those areas from people that are either doing some of the things I would like to do, or who are professionals in that area. I would also encourage you to work with a partner that will hold you accountable. Most importantly, pray for guidance: "A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."
